Sania Nehwal has won the World Junior Badminton Championship. She hails from India and is the first Indian to be the proud winner of such a prestigious title. Her final combat was with Japan’s Sayako Sato, and she finished the rounds with 21-9, 21-18. Sania was a clear winner, though all the participants were extremely talented and showed a lot of potential. Sania was a quarter finalists at the Beijing Olympics who missed the entry into semi finals with a narrow margin. She has won the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix in September. Right after that she won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Youth Games held at Pune, India. She has a lot of potential and whoever sees her game very well knows that. If proper training and facilities are given to such youth then they can achieve wonders. She is aspiring to compete for the world championship in a few years time. Especially in the third world countries there are a lot of young men and women who are extremely talented, but their talent goes unnoticed because of the lack of opportunities. In my opinion more camps and training centers should be opened in such places to promote talent.
