Knowledge of computer applications in today’s world is a pre-requisite for a successful and satisfying career. The course is a certificate course in web technology and was introduced last year. It is a short-term course and is of a duration of 16 weeks.

Students need to have completed their 10+2 in English medium and have a basic understanding of computers. The course fee is nominal at Rs 7,700 and it promises a starting salary of Rs 2.4 lakh per Annam.

The course not only offers a basic understanding of HTML and other web services, but also covers soft wares that are of great value in the job market.

“This course is based on the Open Source platform and covers Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP. Unfortunately, no regular IT courses cover these topics in such combination and detail,” says Dhanesh Patel, Director, Computer Centre, Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), Baroda.

A minimum of 80 sessions of one hour each are reserved for teaching and demonstration, and around 60 sessions of one hour each for practicals five days in a week are kept aside.

With websites increasingly being converted in PHP/MySQL, there is a need for skilled professionals who know how to work with these software's.


This short-term course aims at providing insight into the professional aspects of the development of dynamic web applications to enhance the job prospects.

“There was a need for a course to give our students an opportunity to keep up with the latest in the world of information technology and web development so that they get instant employment,” says Dhanesh.

Wherever there is a requirement for system analysts for constant up gradation of data, for instance, at websites of banks, universities and other portals, there will be a demand for people who have done this course. Students can work as web designers or PHP programmers also.

With web technology becoming an inseparable part of progress in today’s tech-savvy world, it is but natural that those who opt for this course will have instant takers in the job market.

Indian retail is expanding at a rapid pace and the variety of courses on retail in the market bear testimony to this fact.

The latest to jump onto the bandwagon is IP university who has tied up with NIS Academy to offer a three month certificate programme for graduates and working professionals and the Indian Retail School that has tied up with the Ministry of Defence for its Retail Management programme.

A retail management course combines theoretical training with practical experience in a range of retail formats right from apparel, food and groceries to gadgets down small stores to big malls and international chains.

Even though the nomenclature of this course does not change, different schools would offer a different mix of modules.

IP University’s weekend course will train students in retail selling skills, customer service, soft skills, basics of retail store SOPs (Standart Operational Procedures).

Birla Institute of Management and Technology, Noida offers special modules in e-tailing and non-store retailing, retail economics, retail credit, quality certification and quality benchmarking and even retail strategy, risk and loss management.

Students are also trained in analytical and research skills to formulate strategies in various industries. The Indian Retail School, on the other hand, is catering to defence personnel in retail managment and store operations.

The retail market currently valued at $300 billion a year is seeing unprecedented investments by business houses such as Reliance, Bharti, Future group etc.

Pradeep Malhotra, head, special projects and HR solutions says, “These employment assistance linked programmes are designed to create ‘retail ready’ defence people for immediate deployment in booming retail industry.” There is no dearth of opportunities for these professionals.

The Indian aviation industry will grow at a rate of 25 per cent in the next two years. Given this projection, there would not be a better time to enter this field.

Students can work as cabin crew with domestic and international airlines, They can also join as ground staff with the airports. Top recruiters such as Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Spice Jet, Indigo, Kingfisher Airlines are queuing up to recruit students.
You could work as front office executives and guest relations executives with top hotels across the country. The course equips you with the skills to try out BPOs as well. So, the job opportunities are tremendous. As Sapna Gupta, director and founder of AHA says, “With a boom in the aviation industry, this is the most glamorous and sought after career option.”

Remuneration scales for cabin crew candidates can be anywhere between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 for a domestic airline, depending on whether the airline is a legacy or a low cost carrier.

For international airlines, the pay package can vary between Rs 60,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, again depending upon the lineage of the company. There is no dearth of opportunities and the only way to go is up.

हमारे मन - मष्तिस्क में यह प्रश्न अनादिकाल से बार - बार प्रकट होता रहा है | हम पुरुषों में प्रायः इस बात पर चर्चा होती ही रहती है कि स्त्री का चरित्र कितना गहरा हो सकता है ?

पुरुषों की टोली , जहाँ यह चर्चा जारी रहती है अंततः सभी इस निष्कर्ष तक ( अधिकाँश समय ) पहुंचते हैं कि " स्त्री का मन और उसका चरित्र तो साक्षात् ईश्वर भी नहीं भाँप सकते तो हम क्या चीज़ हैं ? स्त्री का चरित्र तो त्रि-आयामी स्वरुप लिए होता है , कब कौन सी बात पर क्या रंग दिखलायेगा यह अनुमान लगाना ब्रम्हा के लिए भी कदाचित् दुष्कर कार्य है " |

चलो यह तो हुआ पुरूष प्रधान समाज के एक बड़े हिस्से का निर्णय लेकिन जहाँ तक मेरे जीवन के अनुभवों को मैं खंगालता हूँ तो यह बात सामने आती है कि मुझे व्यक्तिगत रूप से स्त्री के मन को समझने में कोई समस्या नहीं आती | मेरे लिए किसी भी स्त्री का मन उतना ही साफ़ है जितना कि हो सकता है | मेरे ख्याल से स्त्री को समझना बिल्कुल भी कठिन नहीं है , किंतु इसके लिए पुरूष को अपने अभिमान के दायरे से बाहर आना होगा | स्त्री को समझने का प्रयास इस जगत को नई आशाओं से भर देगा |

स्त्री के चरित्र को समझने के लिए संभवतः सबसे आवश्यक बात है पुरूष को स्त्री के गुणों जैसे ममता , दया और समर्पण के अनुरूप मानसिकता के स्तर को प्राप्त करना होगा | आज तक पुरूष ने कभी इस स्तर तक जाने का प्रयास सामाजिक रूप से नहीं किया इसीलिए आज भी समाज को " ढोल गंवार शूद्र पशु नारि , सकल ताड़न के अधिकारी |" जैसी मानसिकता ने अपनी चपेट में ले रखा है | अब वो समय आ गया है कि पुरूष अपने स्त्रैण गुणों को जागृत करे और ईश्वर कि इस सर्वश्रेष्ठ रचना से अपने साहचर्य को आनंद की पराकाष्ठा तक ले कर जाए |

प्रत्येक धर्म के अनुसार ईश्वर ने सर्वप्रथम पुरूष को बनाया | ईश्वर भी इस बात को स्वीकार करते हैं | वस्तुतः पुरूष के निर्माण के बाद ईश्वर ने अपनी इस महान रचना को हर कसौटी पर परखा , उसे इस महान धरती पर भेजा | बहुत सी परीक्षाएं भी लीं और अंततः यह विचार किया कि ,

" मैं इससे भी अच्छा बना सकता हूँ | "

" फ़िर ईश्वर ने स्त्री बनाई | "

" सत्यमेव जयते " ||
